I would like to share with all Central Florida Region, District 7 members some information that may be of interest to you.
1. A reminder about our upcoming June meeting. We will meet this Wednesday, June 18, at Louie's Pizza in Daytona Beach. Dinner/ Social Hour at 6 pm, Business at 7 pm. I will be sharing information from the Board of Governor's meeting. We will also be nomination officers for our District for the next two years. Please come out and join us.
2. The CFR Board of Governors met yesterday. I want to share with you some of the key take-aways from that meeting.
The Region has several key positions that it will soon need to fill. Specifically:
Robin Regaglia, our current Race Board Chair, will be stepping down at the end of this year. The RBC is responsible for all of the Club's racing activities.
Fran Martin, our Club's Secretary, will be stepping down at the end of next year..
Both of these positions are critically important to the activities of the Club. If anyone wants an opportunity to make an important contribution to the Club these spots could be for you. If you have an interest, or would like more information, please let me know. Or, contact Tim Verkamp, our Club's Regional Exec, at 303-898-7146.
3. In September our Club will be hosting at Daytona International Speedway the SARRC Invitational Championship (The SIC). This is the end of the year race weekend will determine the champions for the Southeast Atlantic Road Racing Championship series.. Racers, crews, friends and families from across the Southeast will be coming to Daytona. Central Florida Region has made the decision to televise these races via U-Tube's Drivers Eye Live channel. In total there will be 14 different 30 minute races over two days, shown in their entirety. We are looking for businesses or individuals who would like to sponsor these shows. You, or your business, can be a sponsor for only $400.For this amount you will receive 30 seconds of live televised air time. Our group can help your business create an effective message to attract racers and fans to your hotel, shop, store, restaurant, bar, or other establishment. 4. Our Club's Annual Awards Banquet will be held December 13, at Margarita in Kissimmee. Mark your calendars for this first of its kind luncheon and awards ceremony.
5. Finally, Tim Verkamp (CFR Regional Exec), and I (Mitch Grant, District 7 Governor) have been invited to participate on the Legends of Racing Radio Show. This show is a live radio broadcast from the North Turn Restaurant in Ponce Inlet. We are going to appear on Friday, July 11, between 12-1. Come out for a good lunch, and to support us and the SCCA.
