To be honest I didn't take the time to look at the light. I just trusted the sump to did it's job.
Small block chevy pressure is much high than yours. It is always 60lbs or more even at hot oiltemps it is always over 50 at idle.

Accusump review
As you may remember I blew up my first motor at the FIRM last year. I assumed that a piston broke and it might very well have been the problem. However the rod and crank were blued up also which leads to oil pressure issues also. I am using a circle track 7qt oil that has trap doors (I also had the ...

Re: Daytona Track Day
I would like to put the camera on the bar. It would be a better shot. But the chance of it falling off is too great. If it falls off from the windshield or dash it should still stay in the car.
A remote GoPro would be the answer but that money is needed elsewhere.

Daytona Track Day
I did a track day at Daytona last Friday. It sure is an impressive place to be when you are a car guy. The morning was nice a little cloud and a nice breeze to keep the heat under control. This was only my second trip to the track so it is still a little intimidating. The new motor has around 400 mi...

Re: On Going Cobra Report
I did get video but I mounted the camera on the windshield and that turned out to not be the best choice of locations. It is very shakey, also the data does show the MPH but the g-force didn't take.
I'll pick out one and post it soon.

On Going Cobra Report
The carb on the cobra has been a real challenge. Herb was kind enough send me a carb he had and it made a huge difference. With his guidance I went back to my 650cfm carb and have been working on it. The O2 meter is nice to work with but it has taken a few tries to figure out how to interpret the re...

Re: Seems like its always something
No it is the 750cfm that I had bought for the first motor but I couldn't get it to do right on it so I bought a 650. I also thought it might be the valve but I checked it with a vacuum gauge and all is good. I have finally gotten a little color on the plugs but I'm down to a 65 on the front jets and...

Seems like its always something
Tom loaned me his O2 meter and I have spent the week working with my carburetor, I won't say I'm working on it do the fact that I am not quite making the progress I would like. The car does really run good. I just cant seem to get it leaned up the way I like it. The jets keep getting smaller but the...

Re: Motor Parts
A follow up on my alternator adjustments. Lowes did not have any wide 1/4" aluminum plate so I had to go with a 1" piece. This added an additional challenge. So I used some of my years of watching "The Woodwright Shop" on PBS. The shows on forging in the blacksmith shop paid off....
