He has a nice shop. The machine shop reminded me of the airplane engine shop my father worked at. Spotlessly clean.

As they say I feel your pain. The longer shocks will not matter unless they bottom out during normal travel at your previous ride height. They might have an o-ring on the shaft to indicate travel.
