Motor saga
Well its been too quite here on the forum. As I was driving in the Reptile roundup cruise I had a fair amount of smoke coming out of my right side pipe. As I had just changed the oil pan to a road race type, I was hoping that maybe I had just over filled it. So as the saying goes I was whistling pas...

The King's Head British Pub car show
Do to my connection with my brothers Triumph TR250 and the fact that I was out driving around in my Cobra I stopped by to see the Triumph Club of North Florida show. The parking lot was closed for the show but I got lucky and someone was pulling out right near the entrance outside of the parking lot...

Re: I found the rattle
Thanks...that is what I have replaced it with. This was the second failure I had with this brand in the last 6 months. The first one only slipped. Made the timing lines go all wacky.

New surprises in the motor
]As I'm waiting for my new Road Race oil pan to arrive I'll give another story on the Cobra as the site seems a little too quiet. (am I the only one that has a Cobra wanting attention..lol) After Daytona I had the balancer issue that I wrote about, but I also noticed on the last run that the oil pre...

I found the rattle
I had a large rattle after the track day at Daytona. It didn’t take long to find. The harmonic balancers rubber insert gave up and the outer ring became unattached. The alternator pulley stopped the ring from flying off. Glad I decided to cut the last session short. 4D0E13F1-81E9-4AA7-AF93-6059EC126...

Re: Daytona in the morning; follow up.
I rested yesterday so I got around to taking the car out of the trailer today. After starting there was a really bad rattle. Strange type of rattle. It sounded like a loose pully a or something. But I only have the one belt and pully and they were ok. I put it on the lift and looked and felt around....

Re: Daytona in the morning
First a little warning. This link is about 20mins long and the quality is still shaky. I tried the best that I could to calm it down. First the iPhone mount fell off in the first session. So I duct taped it to the dash. It was still shaky on the 2nd session so I duct taped the iPhone to the dash als...

Daytona in the morning
With our new "local" tech inspector the cobra passed with no trouble. (but as always they seem to bring up another thing that was not asked before.) This time he looked for a "Z" rating on the tires. I'm using the Nitto 01's which are rated for 150 or so as I recall but sense the...

Re: Interesting electrical puzzle
I have tried LED's 3 times all three caused trouble. Some right away and others after a while. I think it comes down that theLED's don't have the resistance that the filaments do. So the currant goes hunting for another way to get what it wants. When LED's first came out you had to use a ballast res...
